Grandpa Jeff's Trail Rides
When Jeff was 8 years old his father gave him his first horse, Flicka. She was a brown and had a white mark on her hip that looked just like an ice cream cone. Flicka was the beginning of a long love affair that Jeff has had with horses. As he grew up, many more horses entered his life. Riding daily through the countryside with his sisters behind him was the beginning of his career as a trail guide. Packing their lunches, they would ride for hours. Life happened and Jeff drifted from riding, and only road when there was time, but it wasn't enough. Jeff thought there had to be a way he could ride and share this happiness with others. So he decided to make a career out of it.

Brown County State Park
Nicknamed the “Little Smokies” because of the area’s resemblance to the Great Smoky Mountains, Brown County encompasses nearly 16,000 acres of rugged hills, ridges and fog-shrouded ravines. Glaciers from the most recent ice ages stopped short of the “hills o’ Brown,” but their meltwaters helped create the narrow ridges, steep slopes and deep gullies of Brown County State Park. Indiana’s largest park is a traditional fall color hot spot, with nearly 20 miles of tree-lined roads and many scenic vistas overlooking miles of uninterrupted forestland.

Tecumseh Hiking Trail
If the Hoosier Hikers Council (HHC) has a signature trail, the 42-mile Tecumseh Trail in Indiana is it! Built by the HHC in 1998-2002, the Tecumseh Trail begins at Morgan-Monroe State Forest headquarters, which is about 5 miles south of Martinsville and ends in a remote area of Brown County forest near Monroe Reservoir, just south of S.R. 46 near Crooked Creek Road.
